Training Fund Authority – Short Courses
The Authority provides funding for the training of eligible workers, supports the entry of new people into the building and construction industry, and improves the culture and access to training.
Eligibility
An eligible person is any person working in, or in connection with, a company in the Construction Industry in the ACT who is performing work liable for the payment of the Training Levy, or is a person deemed as an eligible person on application to the TFA. An eligible person can be an employer, employee, or independent contractor.
Short courses are available from as little as $500 per course.

Full Certificate III and IV Qualifications
If you choose to study any of the following qualifications you may be eligible for the funding detailed below.
ACT Australian Apprenticeship State Government Funding
ACT Government User Choice Funding
Australian Apprnticeships include apprenticships and traineeships and combine time at work with off-the-job training and can be full-time, part-time or school-based. Funding is available from the ACT Government.
To be eligible for an ACT Australian Apprenticeship contract, you must:
- work in the ACT. This means, you must work for an ACT employer
- be a least 15 years of age
and
- be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand passport holder resident for more than 6 months, or
- an eligible visa holder
and
- receive remuneration for your work
- complete a minimum of 15 hours combined work and training per week, and
- undertake an approved Australian Apprenticeships qualification (as listed above for Orbus3)
- have the required supervision in the workplace for an Australian Apprentice
- A full or part-time employee

- There is a Student Contribution Fee of $450 per qualification payable on enrolment.
