What qualifications do you offer?

Orbus3 currently provide training for a range of highly sought after civil construction courses, all nationally accredited qualifications. Give us a call if you have employees who need a formal qualification in plant operations, road construction and maintenance, pipe laying or who want to further their skills by completing higher level qualification.

The RPL process ensures any relevant experience is recognised and your staff only do the training that is necessary to achieve a competency or a qualification.

Training takes place both on and off site under the guidance of one of our highly skilled and accredited trainers.

What about short courses and high risk licences?

Orbus3 also offers a comprehensive range of short courses covering plant operations, health and safety as well as high risk licences.

Do you have employees who need to gain a formal Statement of Attainment for a specific piece of plant or area of expertise. If so, contact us to find out more.

Is there any funding?

If you are an employer whose employee qualifies for state ACT/QLD User Choice funding and your employee has worked for you for less than 3 months full-time or 12 months part-time/casual or a combination of both, you may be eligible for Federal Employer Incentives of up to $4,000.

If you are an ACT employer whose employee qualifies for User Choice funding and is enrolled into any one of our qualifications, there may be additional Employer and Participant incentives available through the ACT Training Fund Authority. Contact us to find out more.

What is Smart Mobile Learning?

The nature of the civil construction industry requires its workers to be on the move, and sometimes outside internet coverage.

So we designed Smart Mobile Learning. This innovative training is delivered via a specially configured iPad or tablet, supplied by Orbus3. Trainees use their device to access the fully compliant training resources and complete assessments.

Sometimes your civil construction projects are in remote areas with little internet access. No problem – our training resources and assessments can be accessed both online and offline 24/7.

Our trainers are also equipped with the latest mobile technology and regularly visit students on site to provide support and use the latest technology capturing audio and video responses progressively.

Is there any funding?

The civil construction industry has been identified as an industry that requires priority skills support in Australia. This means the Federal and State Governments, as well as industry bodies, provide support in a variety of ways for those choosing to study in this area.

The amount and level of funding varies and could be available to you. Contact us to find out if you are eligible.

Will my civil construction experience be recognised?

Recognition of Prior Learning [RPL] is an important process that ensures your relevant skills, knowledge and experience are recognised. You only need to undertake the training that is necessary to achieve a competency or qualification.

You will need to provide various forms of evidence to prove your skills, experience and competency in any relevant units within the qualification you have chosen.

What does being competent mean?

  • You can perform a task/job/activity to an industry standard
  • You can do it in a consistent way, over time
  • You have sufficient knowledge to enable you to perform it in a range of situations

What are the benefits of RPL?

  • Your skills are formally acknowledged with a nationally recognised qualification
  • You don’t have to waste time studying something you can already do
  • You could open up more career pathways
  • You may complete your qualification more quickly

What will it cost?

  • The cost will vary depending on the qualification and the amount of RPL you undertake
  • You may be required to undertake ‘Gap Training’ to complete the qualification – this is an additional cost to the RPL process
  • Overall the RPL can reduce the cost of your qualification
  • Government contributions or other funding may be available in particular circumstances
  • RPL will never cost you more than the training it replaces and can cost you a lot less – it will certainly take up less of your time

How long will the RPL process take?

To have your skills formally recognised in the national system, assessors must ensure you have the skills and knowledge to meet the required standards. Our trainers assist you through this process. They will follow a comprehensive process that covers the content of the unit(s) or qualifications you can be recognised for. This process must be completed prior to the commencement of any training.
